These are proper ES, it shows as engineering sample in BIOS and task manager.
The eBay listings without ES in the title are most likely the OEM variants that show as properly 7V13 in the BIOS and task manager (no engineering sample). The non-ES versions report as 7V13 in the OS and are ready for Oracle or whatever hyperscaler it was intended for.

Will run stress test in a bit, currently having some unrelated IPMI troubles
did you get the time to check at 280 w ctdp, keep at EDC at default 255.

also can you do a cinebench r23 run with this? thanks

Hey, sadly have not tested it yet but will let you know if/when I can, I have another few of these CPUs so I'll see

I'm not sure how strict Supermicro is with ES/QS but in theory it should work as long as it has a 7003 series BIOS (version 2.3 or newer on H12SSL-i). Always not a guarantee, but it is a late QS CPU so that increases your chances.

For those looking for non-ES/QS processors, it looks like parts.cafe reduced their price to $995 ea for EPYC 7B13 (Google Cloud EPYC 7763 equivalent OEM CPU, not locked and does not report as ES in any way)

AMD EPYC 7C13, which is a retail chip that was reviewed by STH, is also only $1050 ea now by Tugm4470 (EPYC 7713 equivalent)

For "just" $300 more, it could give a bit more piece of mind than an ES chip

7c13 would be 7763 equivvalent yes?
7C13 looks more similar to 7713, because 225W max TDP and 3.7 GHz boost clock

7B13 is more similar to 7763, because 280W max TDP and 3.5 GHz boost clock

Has anyone actually checked the TDP limit on these?
I have one on a KRPA mobo and got up to 410w+ at the wall, 2.6Ghz, with core boost turned off in bios, 265w reported in sw
I have a weak PSU on this atm and will put a stronger one and retest the limits @3Ghz+

According to my software it can only hit 240W (Linux + Windows) on MZ32-AR0 REV 1 flashed REV 3
So maybe it can be turned up to 280W if you set the TDP manually, I will need a day or 2 to test this

Which one do you recommend? 7B13 or 7C13? I care mostly about multi core boosts since single core boost of 3.7 vs 3.5 isn't much difference?

7B13 will be better because it uses the extra TDP to maintain its all-core boosts higher

Nevermind i don't regret this purchase, this works with h12ssl-i, I've noticed it boost to 3.3ghz, and uses 60watts more than my 7402, and it's plenty fast for reencoding videos.
