It's The STH Effect™ (not actually trademarked, but looks cooler this way)ok lets see how it survives the STH effect, right now it shows up as only one sold, 10+ avail

Interesting, I've been looking at R210ii as a buy for a bare metal pfsense box. What processor are you using? How is the power consumption and noise?I have a Dell R210ii running my PFSense
No noise because I spool down the fans using the IDRAC IPMI control for the BMC, power is under 40w measured by a P3 if I recall . I don't recall the processor any longer as I have had it so long I would have to look later.Interesting, I've been looking at R210ii as a buy for a bare metal pfsense box. I had one of those running pfsense some years ago, but just too loud and power-hungry for what it was (I was running it on E3-1220L).Interesting, I've been looking at R210ii as a buy for a bare metal pfsense box. What processor are you using? How is the power consumption and noise?

More....How is this a better value compared to X10SDV-4C-TLN2F? Other than it is a little faster and comes with case?
Well they didn't take my offer. Decisions, decisions. Four sold last I checked.I "best offered" on this at $450, basically to counteract the shipping. No auto response and no personal response so far (although it is barely 9AM Pacific Time now).
Dealaholics are common around here. I use my C3558 VM box a lot and so this would be a big upgrade, > double passmark + 10G but I still haven't pulled the trigger because it would be more noise and heat than current box and it is still hot here and hot in my office where it would go. I would have to replace the 50dba fans with something quieter too.Its sad: even though I've got no room right now, I'm no longer using 10G, and I've definitely not got $500 to spend on another box, I still want one of these. What's even sadder is that, once these sell out, I'm sure I'll want one of the next interesting deal that someone posts.
I hear ya. I've got PfSense running on a AMD RX-427BB box I picked up here for 100 bucks. I added a 6 port NIC, Intel i350 I think and 16GB of ram. I have no reason it the world to replace it but I want one of these boxes. Its sad: even though I've got no room right now, I'm no longer using 10G, and I've definitely not got $500 to spend on another box, I still want one of these. This is Patrick's write up for this system (in a slightly different case).
