2TB STEC s840 SAS SSD

Hard to get a spare 2 TB STEC S840 Enterprise SSD SAS 2 5” New | eBay but it's at like $510 now and being SAS + STEC it'll probably get lower numbers of bids. I'd say you'll need to re-format from 520B to 512B sectors using the guides on here since these drives were mostly in those kinds of OEM systems.

I was in bidding, but yeah too many problems to pay more than $600 IMHO with the deals we get unless you really really want this drive or need that capacity now.

It is kind of crazy to think they had 2TB 2, 3, 4 years ago in SSD...

I have some of the smaller 400GB s840's. They're great drives.
