Yes. more information in the full reviewNice spot pyro_ - been waiting to see if anyone would bring out a D1520 with 10Gbe and it looks like the X10SDV-4C-TLN2F is the one to watch. Wish that some other manufacturers would make some announcements though...!
Edit: looks like the X10SDV-4C-TLN2F has the 2x10Gbe interfaces but leaves out the regular Gbe ones...? The page lists "2x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports" but the shot of the motherboards shows they're absent from their usual location...
Supermicro, stop with this 10GBASE-T nonsense! Me wants SFP+'s!Looks like supermicro has added product pages for two more boards including the D-1520 listed above
Supermicro | Products | Motherboards | Xeon® Boards | X10SDV-4C-TLN2F
Supermicro | Products | Motherboards | Xeon® Boards | X10SDV-8C+-LN2F
So it is your opinion that we will see lower prices? The X10SDV-4C-TLN2F is in stock at NewEgg right now for $699. Such a high cost of entry for a home-lab'er.That is too much. Expect around $450-475 street price upon the official launch.
Same price on Amazon, I don't know newegg's return policy when it is sold through them... but Amazon is always great. Personally waiting for the price to come down. One thing to note is that the one that is shown on Newegg is not being sold by newegg but another vendor....
Seconded, thirded, fourthed, fifthed...etc.Supermicro, stop with this 10GBASE-T nonsense! Me wants SFP+'s!
Yes. Just to give some context, I did speak with the PM on the Xeon D motherboards for a few minutes last week. Will have more insights with the formal review of the system next week.So it is your opinion that we will see lower prices? The X10SDV-4C-TLN2F is in stock at NewEgg right now for $699. Yes. Exactly.EffrafaxOfWug> I think "TLN2F" is two 10Gb network from the soc and no additional network chip.
Thanks Patrick! Long-time lurker and my first post was a bit aggressive so thanks for offering some clarification ahead of the formal review.Yes. No worries. Just trying to get information out in an organized manner. Thanks Patrick! Long-time lurker and my first post was a bit aggressive so thanks for offering some clarification ahead of the formal review.
Yes. Some applications the fan is better, some want to use single/ double (redundant) chassis fans to cool.So what is the difference between the X10SDV-8C-TLN4F and the X10SDV-TLN4F? The specs seem the exact same except for a fan missing on the 8C.
