QS can be retail too. "production unit" will be the correct word.QS since that seems quit cheap for Retail![]()
Not retail (I think the W-3245/-3265/-3275 were Apple parts), but QS or not specified. eBay listings start at $598 OBO.Retail?

The W-3200 series is not officially supported with the C622 chipset, that's an Intel thing. I imagine it will work, I am hoping it will work, but if it lets out the magic smoke of my X11SPi-TF, Supermicro will say I am out of luck.could not follow that. but then a Gold 6256 i.e. will not work too.
yes the VRMs of the X11SPi are weak. probably the W-3245 kill them.but if it lets out the magic smoke of my X11SPi-TF, Supermicro will say I am out of luck.
No, the other way around and I was being facetious...the chipset can damage the CPU ? new to me.
I just installed a W-3265M on it, the X11SPA-TF have 205W TDP support, the CPU is rated at 205W, isn't that enough?yes the VRMs of the X11SPi are weak. probably the W-3245 kill them.
I exaggerated a bit (X11SPi)I just installed a W-3265M on it, the X11SPA-TF have 205W TDP support, the CPU is rated at 205W, isn't that enough?
Ok thanks, this reassures me a littleI exaggerated a bit (X11SPi)
the X11SPA uses a better VRM unit.
i mean if you use a Xeon W - then mostly in a Workstation case with not so ideal cooling of the VRM power stages.
TDC not TDP. even if the CPU has 195W, if the TDC is 255Amp it will not run.I think I will eventually take one of these anyway, if I can find one... which also have 255TDP support and a better heatsink for both the VRM
