Xeon phis and not being recognized on lspci

Hi all,

Looking at getting a batch of cards but im told they aren't being recognized via lspci and wanted to pick the collective brains here to see if there is any tips and tricks to fixing this before i waste my time.

The question is whether they are not showing up because they are dead or if they work and are not in a properly setup system.
