Thanks for the reply. I need 2 PICE-X8, IPMI and integrated graphics with HDMI to passthrough. Looks like the Asus P10S-M, Supermicro X11SAT-F and Supermicro X11SAE-F are suitable but it seems a bad idea to be buying Kaby lake new at this point (Especially since discounts are non existent).I did not see that specifically, but I expect ASUS and other vendors to have many boards.
And the release is not going to be this quarter for what that is worth so there is still a bit of time.
Do you know if any of these will have 10 Gbps NICs onboard? Previous models typically had a T in them, but SM's site has a VERY limited listing of available motherboards. Thanks for the reply. Quite a few Supermicros listing now:
X11SCV-L
X11SCV-Q
X11SCZ-F
X11SCZ-Q
X11SCL-LN4F
X11SCL-IF
X11SCQ
X11SCQ-L
X11SCH-F
X11SCH-LN4F
X11SCW-F
X11SCA
X11SCA-W
X11SCA-F
X11SCM-F
X11SCM-LN8F
But I cant see an equivalent for the X11SAT or X11SAE (Maybe workstations aren't included in the Xeon E release).
I've not heard of any but it would not surprise me if SM or ASRack release one. The server boards have not really been released yet (Only WS) as rumor has it they are waiting for the 8 Core CPUs.Do you know if any of these will have 10 Gbps NICs onboard? Which specific Xeon E models will have 8 cores? I'm only seeing 4 and 6 core models.I've not heard of any but it would not surprise me if SM or ASRack release one. The server boards have not really been released yet (Only WS) as rumor has it they are waiting for the 8 Core CPUs.
That 8700 didn't follow the typical release cycle. It was strictly in response to Ryzen. The Xeon E will follow the typical release cycle. It took them roughly 9 month in between releasing the i7-8700k and releasing the Xeon E-21xx serie.
No idea if its a good idea to use this delay time for predicting the release of an upcoming 8 core Xeon E.
Asrock finally added a product page for the E3C246D4U, a mATX C246 board with IPMI.I've not heard of any but it would not surprise me if SM or ASRack release one. The server boards have not really been released yet (Only WS) as rumor has it they are waiting for the 8 Core CPUs.
Well, their product naming has certainly jumped the shark.Asrock finally added a product page for the E3C246D4U
