how do i tell if a pu is oem or not cuz the 12 core cpus i have dont work but the 10cores i borrowed from a friend do in fact work? Here is what Supermicro says about OEM CPUs on another X9 motherboard:
FAQ Entry | Online Support | Support - Super Micro Computer, Inc.
odd maybe i have oem cpus then idkI have never had any issues using Intel 2696 V2 on X9SRH, X9DRI, X9DRD
CPUs that you could buy over the counter would be the ones that Supermicro motherboards must support because anybody could have bought them and put them in a server.how do i tell if a pu is oem or not cuz the 12 core cpus i have dont work but the 10cores i borrowed from a friend do in fact work?
no idea i dont have the cpus with me atmCPUs that you could buy over the counter would be the ones that Supermicro motherboards must support because anybody could have bought them and put them in a server.
Looking here List of Intel Xeon processors (Ivy Bridge-based) - Wikipedia
there are only two 12 core retail CPUs in the E5-2600 V2 Xeons.
Does it say SR1BA or SR19H on the CPUs you have?
- Xeon E5-2695 v2 SR1BA
- Xeon E5-2697 v2 SR19H
the bios was updated before i got the motherboard so i can only assume the latest bios has a microcode change that doesnt support 12 core cpusCPUs that you could buy over the counter would be the ones that Supermicro motherboards must support because anybody could have bought them and put them in a server.
