Hello!

I am using x10srl-f with an E5-1620 v3.

I have installed HMA42GR7MFR4N-TF (16GB RDIMM) without any issue and works flawlessly but when trying to use HMA84GR7MFR4N-TF (32GB RDIMM) I am unable to post and I get the error "No memory DIMM detected".

Both variants are on the motherboards tested memory list. So I'm not sure what is wrong. It is possible that I have a bad stick but I have tried two different sticks with the same results thus I feel it would be unlikely.

Any help would be mush appreciated as everything that I read so far the cpu/motherboard should be compatible with the 32gb RDIMMs , though maybe I missed something.

Thanks!

I had this issue, not specifically with that memory, grounding the clear cmos pinouts resolved that for me.
Thanks for the quick reply and suggestion!
Just gave that a try and unfortunately the same error occurred.

I also tested with POR disabled (BIOS >> Advanced >> Chipset Configuration >> North Bridge >> Memory Configuration >> "Enforce POR") but that didn't seem to make any difference.

For clarity I have attached a screen shot of the error:

Might seem like a trivial question, but are you installing the memory for each channel correctly?
Fair question, I have used dimm slot A1 for both 16gb and 32gb.
So when using the 16GB stick I used dimm slot A1. This configuration POSTs without errors.
I would then remove the 16GB stick and insert the 32GB stick into dimm slot A1 and it would error stating "No memory DIMM detected...".

the E5-1620 v3 supports only up to 8G Rank's
your 16GB RDIMM is dual rank, 2x8G
your 32GB RDIMM is also dual rank but 2x16G <-- not supported
you have to buy 32GB 4Rx4 memory RDIMM
