X10QBi + MEM1 Rev 1.01 + Xeon E7 v4 ES?

I've heard that X10QBi and MEM1 Rev 1.01 works with Xeon E7 v4 even though not officially supported. Can anyone confirm?

E7 v4 are still pretty expensive, but ES / QS can sometimes be found on ebay for very little money.
Does the X10QBi work with Xeon E7 v4 ES (QKSM)? Are there any special requirements on BIOS versions?

What are the chances that X10QBi + MEM1 Rev 1.01 + Xeon E7 v4 ES will work?

Intel QKSM (E7-8880 v4 ES) work with MEM1 REV1 just fine

how about regular v4 cpus. Do they also work with x10QBi? These boards are quite cheap now.

Can I also replate the Mem board to work DDR4 with an x10QBi rev 1?

v4 alsk work with Rev 1.0 DDR3 boards. No BIOS lock implemented as HP does

well I got one of them with rev 1.01 board and MEM1 cards in a CSE 848 with full set up. Are you saying that after a BIOS upgrade these boards will work with any e7 v4 CPU?

It seems like awesome system to scale out infinitely with 88 cores and heaviest workloads and lots of expansion for memory. I only paid $220 shipped so it is dirt cheap, pretty much bought it for the shipping cost. Though in one post, it was mentioned that the system is very finicky. I don't want to waste my time if it is unstable with v4 cpus and so on. Can you please share your experience?

Yes. I'm running this exact setup with 4x E7-8880 v4

be aware that it is easy to kill or damage memory (SMI) channels on E7 CPUs. Already had like 5 CPUs with damaged memory channels

Does forever here mean 5 minutes or 15 minutes? I understand every change require self-test but once system is stable, I assume there is fixed boot period. How long is that?

How does CPUs get damaged? Electrostatic? Never heard CPUs getting damaged before.

I think about 7 Minutes with 3TB DDR3 or 6TB DDR4 or 11 Minutes with 6TB DDR3 or 12TB DDR4

Time is always the same, no matter whether coldboot, hardware change, etc
