X Case chassis are generally not bad, reasonably well built, my only concern with them is cooling the disks. The backplanes although not bad, are not as free flowing as they could be, so if your ambient air temps are high, you might want to invest in better fans
Thanks for the info! I currently got my server in a closet, although a walk in one , it is small and the ambient T is about 25C with a server that draws 100w from the outlet.
For not much more there's this Supermicro 4U server Supermicro H8DME-2 4U 24 Bay Server 2 AMD Opteron 2374 16Gb RAM which comes with 2x900W PSUs and will undoubtedly be better put together than that xcase. Might be worth checking with the seller the case/backplane model numbers
I got exactly the same server now. I found it in us for 460$ shipped. Although now prices might be a bit up since 3 years ago. I moded the case to put in a regular 760w psu in it because the original psu's are very loud. Also dumped all the internal fans and fan wall. Replace the backwall exohst fans with quiet one and instead of fan wall put 3 120mm on zip ties. Now I know I could hav used 3 140mm for better fit.
