Well, I figured I'd start off with some 4 x 24 core QL1K's that I just got for 350 each. Still trying to confirm they'll work with the board. Cheapest that I found the motherboard was on tigerdirecr and one other site. Im not certain what type of case I could put it in though as well. Would any 2/4U supermicro case work? Could I swap they fans in one to be quiet enough for home use?

Can’t help you much there, haven’t used 4 socket intel servers for atleast 7 or 8 years now. ( not to say I don’t work on big systems with thousands of sockets but that’s distributed )

It must fit in some cases, check the superserver page to see what SM sell permade would be a start.

Just going to give you a heads up, QL1K's are ES2 CPUs. They do not work in all dual socket motherboards. Chances of them working in quad are extremely low and you will get zero support as they are ES2's.
