Alternatively if anything similar has come around - the MD1000 wont fit my rack due to depth, and also seems to run pretty loud..

These have become hard to find for some reason. I had one 6 or so years ago and it was CHEAP to buy then...i think $200 but now they're going for double that. Curious why...

Yeah these used to be one of the cheapest DAS solutions out there and I swear I saw some for $99 on reddit just a few years ago. Today they're so much higher like the supermicro 45-drive cases that also skyrocketed but have come down some since then.

Yeah.. i had two 3 years ago that i parter ways with to put all storage in Google drive, that seems to have ended now, so trying to source something for my Home rack - which is quite depth limited..

esit: and even more hardto come by in the EU..
