WTB: Dual E5 Server, 128G-ish 8xLFF w/trays

Needs to be at least six-core CPU's, prefer V2.
Must be able to take a K2200 GPU (No power, just needs GPU riser)

Dell T420
Dell T620
Dell R720
Cisco C240

All would fit the bill. Supermicro ok too.
Prefer these because I'm dropping a Perc H730 with a bunch of 4TB drives that are already in a server.
Been watching Ebay, figured I'd check here too.

Basically replacing my ancient Dell Precision, might as well make it a full VM server.

Dual fast 8 cores with 128GB ram, no hotswap but the case I think can take 8 drives.

Hey buddy if your putting a H730 in the server you want to buy you must go with a newer gen servers the 13th gen server cause the servers you mentioned take H710

Why's that? Why won't a new gen controller work in a 12G server?

no it will not the H730 only works on 13th gen and I believe it will work on the newer 14th coming out but not 12th gen

Is that confirmed or a hunch? Is it because of the lifecycle controller? People have indicated they have this running properly in even older servers.

You know what maybe itll work I'm reading some people using it we just never used it cause its made for the 13th gen

Yeah maybe we just always used the parts for its generation except HDD but maybe the raid controller will work the cpus I know 100% wont
