Hello, i'm doing some test with infiniband, actually i have 2 server Dell poweredge R710 configured as follow:

48GB ram
2 x intel xeon x5660
single HCA MHQH19B-XTR
Windows 2012 R2

to connected eachother i used the following cable CINCH - QSFP+ http://www.cinch.com/wp-content/uploads/cinch-qsfp-cable-rep-training-2010jan18-part-1.pdf

I installed the cards into the pci-e 8x slot, updated the HCA MHQH19B-XTR firmware to version 2.10.720 (RDMA enabled) and installed the windows driver on both windows server (MLNX_VPI_WinOF-4_90_All_win2008R2_x64.exe)

executed opensm.exe and the server can ping eachother.....

If im trying to transfer a file between servers (ipoib) i can get a transfer rate between 90 and 150 Mb/s, i tried everything but i cannot understand what's wrong..... I was expecting really more while ipoib its about 10GB

somebody can help me ?

Thanks

what kind of storage subsystem do you have on the servers ? maybe you're hitting the maximum throughput of your storage system ?

90MB/s is firmly in gigabit territory.

The H700 isn't a very high performance card, there's one in one of the servers at work (R515) and it doesn't do much more than 60MB/s read or write on a RAID6 of 2TB 7200rpm SATA drives. It's frankly a bit crap, pretty disappointed that a 1 year old server is slower than the PE2950 from 2007 that's running with old 500GB SATA drives on a PERC5/i. Wish I'd paid a little more for a "real" RAID card in the R515.

H700 is a lsi 9260 so it should run as fast as 6 drives can push it in that server! Might make sure you aren't stuffing the raid card in the special pci-e 1.0 4X "STORAGE SLOT"!
