Am I right to assume the second Windows 7 goes EOL the used market will get flooded with (once) high-end stuff like X58/X79 boards?
Except X58 is basically the eternal platform because of cheap used hexacore Xeons, which also overclock like high holy hell.I would be surprised if that was the case.
X58 was introduced in 2008 or so. X79 in 2011.
Generally people who buy this high-end of a system (at the time) are, at most, 3-5 year cycles. Both of those platforms have already hit the secondary market.
True that, I installed XP on M6500 to play STALKER SoC last week. That and a Creative sound card with EAX makes the game sound a whole lot better.Just because its EOL does not mean everybody with Win 7 boxes will run out and buy newer hardware.
Remember there are still Win Xp pc's being used by people.
Making a SLI/CrossFire machine to run STALKER SoC/CS/CoP in glorious 2560x1600 because I have a WQXGA monitor sitting unsued. Why are you interested in those boards anyway?
