Dear All,

I have a strange thing on my new Hyper-V server. After few hours I'm not able to create / move VM on this Hyper-V without getting this error:

The server encountered an error while creating New Virtual Machine.

Creating the virtual machine failed.

Nothing more then this and nothing in the event viewer...

The server is a Windows 2016 server Data center Edition fresh install, all patches are installed and the only installed soft are Hyper-V, and backup agent. Storage is on an MSA 1040, i have applied the special permission for account "Virtual Machine". I'm domain admin. I can navigate the storage whitout error create files, folder ect..

If i reboot the server everything is working fine for a moment then the error re-appears.

Thanks for reading and for helping,

C.

My only suggestion is to remove the hyper-v role, reboot, then add it back again. My guess is you are hitting some sort of bug they haven't ironed out yet. I've been using it quite extensively since release and haven't come across that one yet.
