Hi team!
I am planning an update to my existing NAS, that is currently connected to NetApp DS4246. I have a dell R640 that needs an HBA for that connection. So I wonder, if it makes sense to go with SAS12 HBA? The reason is to future-proof and to have longer/better support in future ESXi.
The NetApp uses QSFP connectors and I see some options like this one: 12G External SAS Cable QSFP to SFF-8644 HD Hybrid SAS 0.5~3 Meters | eBay that seems to do what I need. Or am I wrong?
Another question: Is there a SAS12 version of JBOD shelf, that is cheap, reliable and widely used (like DS4246 for the SAS6)?
Thank you.
