HI,
I am looking to play with a GPU that's capable of supporting multiple virtual desktops. Looks like Nvidia vGPU is the way to go, but there seems to be licensing or unlocking involved and proprietary Nvidia driver. Are there any other alternatives that enable sharing a GPU with multiple VMs that is simpler?
Preferable a GPU that doesn't require any extra power connections. I looked at GTX1030 low profile, for example. It is an inexpensive low profile card, but then there's the whole unsupported unlocking mess to deal with.
I use Proxmox and am looking fro basic desktop usage, office applications. No gaming or any taxing things. I am finding that virtual desktop video support in enterprise servers is severely lacking. I.e. try watching YouTube over RDP in an enterprise server hosted VM versus any desktop and there is a world of difference.
Thanks
