There are companies out there buying huge number of specific servers and then replacing them in cycles. I am asking about when the next batch is coming off lease. So, maybe someone here has some datacenter scoops to share.

E5's will start coming off lease in the next year. More late next year and the following two.
There is a difference this cycle with the FB's, Google's and other big players moving to custom form factors rather than a C6100. OpenCompute without IPMI with no 110-120V input and a custom size is not too appealing used, except to mine processors from.

The first batch is about to fall into that 3 years cycle coming Q1 05 with the next batch in Q2. Hopefully, we are on track to see a decent batch on ebay Q4 of 05.

Why not get a quieter R610? Just curious as I picked up 3 of them for cheap to play with.Yeah, typo. I meant 2015.
That said, it looks like I will need a box sooner than that. One of my boxes is acting up badly.
Looks like I might get another C1100 to hold me off.
