What type of power connector do the Tesla GPUs use?

I just sold a dell gpu server on ebay. It had 4 8+7 PCIE power cables in it. The guy I sold it to just sent me a message saying the cables don't fit the Tesla M40s he bought. I'm looking at the nvidia documentation and its referencing a cpu cable and dongles for pcie connectors. Does anyone know if these things have a port for the standard pcie power cables or do they use something else? Thanks

NVIDIA changed this at some point. There are different cables for older Teslas, newer Teslas, and desktop GPUs. Dell probably has a matrix between the server and GPUs. I have to tell vendors what GPUs I am using so they can send the right cables whenever we do GPU systems.

Whats the reason for this? Not enough juice thr the standard vga cable or another marketing ploy?
