Topic says it all, but here is some more explanation.

Most 10GBASE-T SFP+ tranceivers tend to get very hot, which means they consume a lot of power (cost) and they are not remommended for use in passiv cooled switches.

Which are the most efficient tranceivers when it comes to power consumption?

I guess not all tranceivers use the same chip and maybe newer ones have a smaller structure. For instance, the FS-COM module is specified with 2,9W max and a Marvell Chip.

The Ubiquity Unifi module is specified with 1,9Watt, but the chipset is unknown.

Are there any new Modules which are more efficient?
