Wasn't able to test yesterday until now.
Turning system on, it halts after 20 seconds or so with a "unrecognized post code" error and turns off.

2 cpus
Only thing I got is “unrecognized post code”. Tried to upload a screenshot but it’s too big.
i meant have you tried only one cpu ?
and check if all your VRM power stages(chokes and DrMOS) are populated, dell likes to remove some for better efficiency on lower currents.

There is 6 spots but only 5 are populated. I will try with only 1 cpu. I have a picture but can’t upload it.

So I took cpu2 out and I’m booting with only cpu1 and it is booting up now. Showing 8272cl in bios now.
swap CPU1 with the other.
if work, something with UPI requirements ?
power budget ? PSU upgrade required ? not unusual on OEM servers.

So I have 1100w power supplies coming. They were only $19.
I was noticing something. The header we used from your guide is P4 and it’s close to the VRM section for cpu2. I noticed close to the cpu1 VRM section, there is a P7 header. Could that be something we are interested in?

no. you have updated two VRM controllers. they are both accessible with P4.

Ok.
So I guess I will wait until the power supplies get here and test again. Thanks for your time and knowledge. I will report back in a few days when I receive the power supplies.
