I've just got the Samsung Gear VR. It's not as good as the Oculus. I also think that it's a ploy by Samsung to have you do more recharge cycles on your phone so you need replacements faster.
I still haven't found anything too great. I do want to try the Virtual Desktop app. That could be a total winner. Being able to work on stuff in crowded places without having others see your screen. 3M privacy filters work OK but this would clearly be better.
