I'm looking to buy a Tyan S7100GM2NR motherboard and a pair of Xeon 8173M's, but the 8173M isn't listed on the QVL/AVL list. Thing is though, am I right in saying the 8173M is basically an 8176, just OEM only and double the memory capacity?
Saw a post on here from 3 years ago (https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/my-mini-supercomputer-build.27324/) about someone using the 8173M on an ASRock EPC621D4I-2M. I checked the QVL/AVL and it doesn't support the 8173M either, but it runs just fine for them.
So I feel like there's a good chance the 8173M would be just fine?
