i made some 'progress' on the shutdown issue only:
when setting the bios defaults the machine shuts down properly.
since i have dozens of settings i changed i am quite lost however

the reboot issue in proxmoxx is on my list today. i will report back.

@all other owners of the RJ40-i5
can you check the following:

- reset bios to defaults
- restart and enter the bios settings
- go to 'Advanced' go to 'PCH-FW Configuration'
- set 'ME State' to 'Disabled'
- press F10 to save and exit
- reboot to 'Built-in EFi Shell' [or any other operating system]
- type: 'reset -s' [shutdown the system]
the machine freezes.

for me i have checked three machines, all the same behaviour.
this is bad as i never had machines before freezing on shutdown
if the ME is disabled

the reboot issue did not appeared again for me at least
maybe it was an proxmox update ...

disabling the ME is not supportet, though available

Any more reboots since last update? In the end I purchased the 6x 2.5G CWWK unit. Seems stable. Stress-ng load for 5 hours temps sit about the 50c mark. It idles about 30c

I reached out to CWWK regarding the reboot issue with Proxmox and Geekbench and it seems a new revision is coming soon. Newer but still old 11th gen CPU. I'm not sure if it is an acknowledgement of the issue though. I linked them to this thread and the STH review

Meanwhile the Gen12/Gen13 devices are available on Aliexpress. I have one on order which should show up tomorrow.
Has anybody checked these out yet?

no reboot.
unit is stable. i will migrate another vm the next days and see if it goes all well.
