I need a new core switch for my home office and have some pretty specific parameters.

1. Needs at least 16 ports with at least two of them being sfp+ for 10 gig.
2. Needs POE for 2 Voip ones and an access point. Possibly some camera's in the future.
3. I have a rack made out of wood without side venting so the cooling fans will need to be in the rear. I don't want to be overwhelmed by the noise. I found online a guide where the fans for the EX3300 were replaced with Noctua ones fixing that issue.

My concern lies within the firmware updates. Since I would by this second hand getting updated firmware would be an issue if the firmware on the switch has problems. Is there a specific firmware I should look for?

Thanks in advance.

Well the official recommended firmware versions from JTAC for all of the switches are listed in their KB here
Junos Software Versions - Suggested Releases to Consider and Evaluate - Juniper Networks so Junos 12.3R12-S15 for the ex3300
But that said, if you are doing basic L2, vlans and some L3 for home you should be fine with any released version, and can always check with the seller to see what is on there before purchase and check the release notes for FW newer than that to see what has been fixed if it matters to you.

Good info in that link. I actually did ask an ebay seller and the response was less than overwhelming. Basically said we powered it on and it works. We don't look at software...
