Anyone able to get the controller to passthrough in VMware ESXi? I have VT-D enabled in the BIOS but VMware is showing it as not capable of passthrough.

Haven't actually done it myself as I have not needed the SATA ports, but it should be doable by editing the passthrough.map as shown in this thread (4th paragraph)

Code:
# INTEL Sunrise Point-H AHCI Controller
8086 a102 d3d0 false

Can confirm that this indeed does the trick, after adding that into the /etc/vmware/passthrough.map and restarting the host, I now hae the ability to enable passthrough of the AHCI controller.

Thanks for the assistance.

Hi all,
I just got a supermicro X11SSH-LN4F-O for my homelab and try to pass though the onboard controller "Sunrise Point-H AHCI Controller" as well.

I've also added the mentioned lines to the file passthru.map and rebooted the host.

Unfortunately the entry is still greyed out and it's showing that passthough is not possible.

I've installed esxi 6.7.

Does anybody have experience with that functon in this esxi version and can help me?

edit*: I installed now esxi 6.5 and everything is working.
