Does anyone know if the SuperMicro X11SCL-LN4F-O is compatible with consumer 8700k CPU? To explain my mentality here and why i'm going down this path, I already have the 8700k which i'm going to re-purpose in to a server, but I would like to get IPMI, which is why i'm looking for a server grade motherboard.

The X11SCL-LN4F-O is the same socket LGA1151, the website doesnt explicitly claim compatibility, however there's enough ambiguity in it to make me wonder..

From the supermicro site:
  1. 8th/9th Generation Intel® Core™i3/Pentium®/Celeron® Processor, Intel® Xeon® E-2100 Processor, Intel® Xeon® E-2200 Processor., Single Socket LGA-1151 (Socket H4) supported, CPU TDP support Up to 95W TDP
The 8700k is an 8th generation, and the TDP is 95W. Supermicro for what ever reason only explicitly calls out the i3?

8700K doesn't support ECC memory. 8th & 9th gen Core i3 do (same goes the lower end models). Supermicro specifically mentions them for a reason.
