Hi,

New to the forums but I've been slowly building out my homelab over the past year. I'm in the process of upgrading my NAS/Proxmox cluster to 10G.

I have Supermicro 5019D-FTN4 server that I was attempting to install an Intel X520-DA1 (Gtek) card. After installing, the system hangs at boot with code "B2" - "DXE Legacy OPROM Initialization". Some online searching leads me to believe I need to disable the option ROM for the card (which is in the PCI-E riser card), but I'm not sure. I've also seen references to booting in UEFI instead of Legacy.

Pointers and/or ideas welcome.

I’ve seen it a few years ago. A different super micro board to yours. It’s solvable. I’d start by disabling the option rom.

I followed up with Supermicro support, and found that setting these two items allowed the system to boot normally and the card works a expected:

PCIE slot OPROM setting - Legacy (was EFI)
Slot 7 Bifurcation setting - x8x8 (was Auto)
