This is the review I was rather curious about.

I am surprised by the performance, I guess the extra cache per core helps.

The tinkerer in me is half tempted to create a low power cluster to re-arrange my home use systems.

I went to show somebody the amazing result for this board as I don’t have one to test and it seems the OS idle has changed from 14.1w to 19.1w ? Latter does seem much more plausible but at the same time takes it far closer to some d-1500 solutions that idle at 30w
@Patrick you retested or how did it come to change ?

Can I ask a stupid question.
Can the board work with SAS drives?
A2SDi-8C+-HLN4F | Motherboards | Products | Supermicro

It comes with a MINI SAS HD-4 SATA cable.
I get the impression the system is incapable of working with SAS as the specs say:
"SATA SoC controller for 12 SATA3 (6 Gbps) ports"

It's worth asking though.
No. The board only work with sata drive.
Basically, they just change from 8 x sata connector to 2 x SFF-8643 connector.
