Hi,

I may be purchasing a Supermicro 846 chassis that comes with 2 x PWS-1K28P-SQ preinstalled stock from the factory.

I was curious on the noise level of the PWS-1K28P-SQ vs the PWS-920P-SQ. Does anyone know if 1 is quieter than the other or are they about the same on noise? I have looked around, but haven't seen many posts about the noise comparing these two.

I've seen some posts about not all chassis fitting the PWS-1K28P-SQ, but if the case already has those preinstalled stock, could this chassis also fit a PWS-920P-SQ instead of it is significantly quieter?

This is the exact chassis model I am looking at if it helps determine if the 920SQ would it in its place if needed: 846BE1C-R1K28B

Thanks in advance.

I had both psus in my 846 and couldn't tell a difference in noise.

I'm using the 920sq because the whole server consumes less than 300 watt and the 920sq is more efficient.
