Part of me thinks that these aren't good because they'd have high power consumption of a 4S. There's 2 available. If they can take V3 22nm CPUs and they've got big DDR3 risers, then this might be a way to get a high memory node and have a lot of PCIe too.

To me it looks like there's a bunch of these on the market. This one has drive trays, 4x CPUs, ram, and the SAS controller. It's an extra $150-250 for all that.
Two big nodes with cheap DDR3. If you think of them as two 2S each then it's like $675 per node configured.
