Supermicro 3.5" drive tray generaton compability

Did anybody work with newer generation SM trays?
Before this moment I have just gen 5.5 and lower trays. And now I'm the happy owner of this fancy Simply Double system 6028R-E1CR24L with Part List | SuperStorage | Products | Super Micro Computer, Inc. but w/o any trays.
Parts List declare gen 8 (MCP-220-00133-0B) should fit in here.
And I wonder if gen 6.5 (MCP-220-00094-0B) tray fits as well, as it looks almost the same, not saying it's much cheaper used on eBay.

I accidentally bought a bunch of both gen 6.5 and gen 8 drive trays, Not compatible with the gen 5.5 chassis .

BTW, 6.5 generation MCP-220-00094-0B fits, so no need in 8 gen. Wait... well, now I have to find gen 6.5 labels somewhere


EDIT: Not so fast you supermicro backwards compatibility fans... Now we have to cut small piece of plastic (7x5mm) on the caddy's corner, hitting gen8 metal pin!
