The shipping is great, most servers from UK are at around 60 GBP

I am considering buying one and together with a L5520 and use it as a filserver. Any idea what the power consumption would be?

I bought 2 @ 85GBP + 15 postage to Sweden. Also got a free upgrade to dual CPU setup, and changed RAM from 6x2GB to 2X4GB...

I put in a low-ball offer first, they countered at 85, and I sent them a mess asking about combined shipping. They offered dual CPU for free and I asked about RAM setup etc.

Also, the description is a little off - it's not a SuperServer 6026TF nor a chassi with 600W Platinum PSU (as listed). Its a SC825TQ-563

About the E5: I think I'm gonna have to hold off on that for a while - see what I can make use of these servers first :) Thanks for asking thou!

Thank you for the quick reply. I will do the same and see what is happening.
I bought the same chassis a couple of month ago new and payed much more. Now I can built up a nice little storage cluster, for my homelab.

They were really quick to respond etc, so give it a try!

I'm not sure what I'll use mine for... Need to figure out if I can cool em quiet enough to use at home.

Auction ended, lucky me, I bought the last one. I guess they realised the chassis alone is worth 85 GBP, if it is not missing evrything...

You were right they responded quickly, and offered me dual CPU setup with heatsinks for 85 GBP, too. I accepted their offer, 12 GB RAM is also nice even if it use 6 slots.
In my opinion the case is everything but quiet, I would guess it has 40dB+ noise at idle (the standard fans running at 3400 rpm). With a door between your living room and the server you should be fine otherwise you gonna have a bad time, except you are hard of hearing or mod the chassis ...

Mkvaner thank you very much for posting the auction here.

I'm very glad to resist to this auction until it's ended...
It's a way for me to prove i can be reasonable.
So i succeeded 2 days and failed miserably today when i see the new auction :-/

I bought one at 85 GBP and 12Gb RAM.... pfff shame on me...

Well to be fair, you did resist THAT auction, the one you wanted to resist. Then, as the eBay gods showed you another way, you had no way to resist.

It's science.

i bought one for a total of 164€ (including shipping costs)
I resell the motherboard+proc+rams on ebay for 105€ (after all fees deducted)

So this chassis cost me 59€ that is great deal imho.

Hehe, I also resold my two @ 530EUR. The rails didn't work in my box, and IPMI didn't have any fan settings, only BIOS...
