We have a range of Dell servers (R710, R720, R520, R320, R820s) - I noted in IDRAC that some of the PSU's shows present | failure, however, the PSU seems to work without an issue. We unplugged the other cable and the "failed" PSU still works. Rebooting the server does not take the error away, and reseating it also does not work, however, if we swop the PSU's then both power supplies are back to normal. Lights at the back are also green. As we have these in various formats (so not 1 problematic IDRAC) I am not sure how to further troubleshoot this apart from doing a full system reboot and swopping the PSU's (even just swopping PSU1 and PSU2)
Any ideas? I assume an IDRAC reboot can also clear the error, we're just not sure why this happens or how to troubleshoot it beyond what the IDRAC is showing in the GUI?
