Hi

I am brand new to servers and home labs. I hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew.I have purchased a HPE gen10 server, some hdd and from this upgrade article an QNAP QM2 2S Dual M.2 SATA SSD PCIe Card and I had a couple of ssd lying around.

I have installed all the hardware, and am wanting to install proxmox onto one of the pcie ssd’s.

When I boot into the promox setup I am not given the option to use the ssd drives. Only drives shown are the 3.5 hdd.

Could someone with greater experience point me in the right direction? Is it a BIOS setting? Do the SSD’s need to be formatted prior to install?

This is the article I have sourced the information from.

Thanks

Hans

Are you sure that the SSDs that you installed into the QM2 are SATA drives? That card does not support NVMe drives.
