I'm planning out my 2017 "wish list' (new workstation build, additional Canon glass, JDI 4k Drone, etc), it's time to start getting the funds together and
I have a few Supermicro LGA2011 builds that I'm putting up for sale.

#1: SC213 2U 16x2.5" SOLD
The configuration consists of the following items:

  • 2x Intel STS200C CPU Coolers

The chassis contains the BPN-SAS-213A direct attach backplane with 4x SFF-8087 connectors. The X9DRE-TF+ motherboard features an Intel X540 10GBe dual channel controller (2x 10Base-T ports) and 24 DIMM slots.

Tested for >48hrs using the AIDA64 Stress test.

For test purposes I've got an SSD installed in the front of the chassis in the "USB Dummy Tray" (room for 1x 2.5" device)

#2: SC846 4U 24x3.5" $950
The configuration consists of the following items:
  • Supermicro SC846E16-R1200B chassis, dual PWS-1K21P-1R PSU, 24x hot swap 3.5" drive carriers, 3x 80mm mid plane fans, 2x 80mm rear fans.
  • Supermicro X9DRi-LN4F+ dual socket LGA2011 motherboard
  • 2x E5-2670 (SR0H8)
  • 2x Supermicro SNK-P0048P CPU Coolers

Tested for >48hrs using the AIDA64 Stress test.

SSD for test purposes installed in the Silverstone adapter

#3: SC846 4U 24x3.5" SOLD
Pretty much identical build to #2, except this one has 192GB memory (24x 8GB PC3-10600R). I can provide photos if absolutely needed, but it's going to look just like the #2 system !

I'm a Windows guy, so a lot of my testing has been done using Server 2012R2 and Server 2016. However, I have also installed ESXI on these systems and verified that pcie passthough works as expected.

Here's the #3 chassis with ESXI installed on USB, an Intel SSD used for ESXI storage, with 3 VM's:
  • VM1: Server 2012 (S2012) on the ESXI datastore with an Intel x520 10Gbe NIC passed though. Starwind Ramdrive used to create an 8GB Ramdrive
  • VM2: OmniOS / Napp-It on the ESXI datastore with a SAS2308 HBA passed though (along with 10x 1TB drives). ZFS filesystem shared back to ESXI over NFS
  • VM3: Server 2012 (Z2012) installed on the NFS share

Running IoMeter on Server 2012 on the #2 chassis with an Intel x520 10GBe Nic, connected to the Ramdisk of the S2102 VM on system #3 (with the passthrough x520 10GBe Nic).
S2012 VM shows the x520 name as "pciPassthru0", sending data at ~10Gbps

Note:
1) The systems do show the normal wear and tear of being put in and out of racks, and have scratches / sticker residue that may not be obvious in the photos.
2) If your preference is Hardware RAID over HBA I have a couple of LSI Megaraid 9271's (SAS2208) with Cachevault/Supercap available.

Payment via Paypal. I'm on the west coast, Portland OR area if you are local and want to pickup (or stop by for a coffee/beer and kick the tires), otherwise I'll be using FedEx for shipping.

Update: There is a "Shipito" facility in the Portland Metro area and if you want to take care of the international shipping paperwork and costs, I'll be happy to personally drop off the server at the Shipito location and save you the domestic portion of the shipping.

For domestic shipping you can use the FedEx online calculator to approximate shipping charges. I'll be shipping from 97229, approximate box dimensions / weight are as follows (weight and dims to be verified by FedEx, actual shipping charges will be used).
#1 SC213: box dimensions are 36" x 24" x 10" and the approximate weight is 45lb
#2, #3 SC846: box dimensions are 36" x 24" x 14" and the approximate weight is 70lb

Please start up a conversation with me if you have any questions. I'll be happy to perform additional testing if required.

I've sold a number of big and small items on this forum (complete systems, barebones systems, motherboards/CPUs, Infiniband gear, 40Gbe switch, enterprise SSDs etc), you can search for my username in this section. Photo & listing style is similar !!

What's the idle power usage in watts? For server 3? And could you estimate a shipping cost to Sweden?

Idle power details as requested by @ekke :

#1: SC213/64GB, power to both PSU, Server 2016 booted (SSD) and idle (all cores at 12x) .. 125W
#2: SC846/128GB, power to both PSU, Server 2012 booted (SSD) and idle (all cores at 12x) .. 145W
#2: SC846/192GB, power to both PSU, ESXi booted (USB flash), ESXI SSD only connected (no HDD), all VM powered off .. 160W

I'm keeping shipping to USA only at this time to minimize headaches.

However, there are 2 freight forwarders that I am aware of that are based in Portland OR, HopShopGo and Shipito. I'll be more than happy to drive to either of these and "drop off" items, as all paperwork and shipping fees are then handled by the purchaser. I know HopShopGo accept "drop offs", but I'm not sure about Shipito, that would have to be verified. I've seen a number of EU /AU members mention that they use Shipito so presumably they provide a reasonable service.

For shipping price calculation the dimensions and weight of the packages are interesting.
I'm afraid shipping to Europe is to expensive to be a good deal. Sad

It's worth to mention that shipito accept drop-off's in their warehouses. And they have surcharges for overweight: $10 >30lbs, $20 >70lbs, ... (see shipito Compare Plans)

Just wanted to give some feedback related to my purchasing of one of these systems from britinpdx. I'm very satisfied with how everything went with our transaction. Every question was answered in detail and in a timely manner. The system was packaged very well and survived traveling across the US from West coast to East coast.

I'm very happy with how smooth and easy it was to buy a system from britinpdx. I would buy from him again in the future. Thanks for the great system.

I would not hesitate to buy again from britinpdx. I would recommend anyone interested in anything he is selling to contact him as he was more then willing to help me with my questions.
