If only I could justify the SuperServer 5018D-FN4T with a use case but......already have an under utilized C3558 box in the same case.

They may be a similar "generation", both the 850 pro and the 863 series use 32-layer V-NAND. There usage characteristics are pretty different in my experience. I have always had performance problems with the consumer 850 series in any kind of ZFS or raid array. These never had that issue and they have power loss protection.

What can a PM863 be compared to? 850 Pro?
