Should I replace the MB or the CPU?

I was trying to remove a loose screw from underneath a H11DSi-NT motherboard and probably killed it. IMPI still works, I can power on the server from IPMI however even though the fans are running, the system shows as powered off in IPMI and I get an error that it failed to switch it on. And the server doesn't come online. The post snooping tab in IPMI shows FF. All health sensors are off. I tried removing most memory sticks and all PCIe cards with no success.

So from previous threads on the topic it seems I bricked it. My question is which is most likely bricked, the motherboard or the CPUs (i.e. do I stand a reasonable chance to bring the server back to life by replacing just the motherboard?)

Yes it is a two sockets MB. Can dual socket MB boot with a single CPU? I thought both were required.

the CPU must be in the first socket CPU1.
some interface and PCIe slots become unavailable(PCIe lanes from CPU2)
check manual "SYSTEM BLOCK DIAGRAM"

So for the records in case someone reads this in 3 years with the same problem, the motherboard was dead. Replaced the motherboard and plugged the existing CPUs and everything works fine. Now I learned supermicro EPYC motherboards are super fragile and you should be careful not to bend them and/or hold them by the CPU fans (that's how I think I killed it).

I dunno. I abuse my many mainboards pretty badly and never pick them up any other way than by the heatsink. The Supermicros in the mix don't seem to mind more than the others.
