For comparison purposes I ran the Linux-Bench benchmark script on a pair of Intel Xeon E5-2650L V3 processors:

Overall good performance. Power consumption wise, much better than the dual Intel Xeon E5-2690 V3 by ~100w.

STREAM looks improved on the V3 systems as well, which bodes well for overall throughput. Sadly, I'm fine with my current quad Xeon E5 machine, so I won't be doing any data warehouse tests on any V3 processors any time soon.

Yea, the E5 V3 is really nice overall. Once RAM prices drop, the 1.2v and faster memory is good.

I think the quad situation will have to wait awhile though.
