Are Dell PowerEdge R620/R720 rackserver 1u and 2u rails strong enough to hold them up when pulled out all the way? Especially 2u rails - has anyone ever had them collapse when pulled all the way out?

they are made to be strong enough to hold when fully extended.

and, Yes during covid lockdown i had new rail collapse on me while racking r650 - but everything was of shoddy quality back then - half of disk caddies, even screws were made shitty.

Cannot speak to 2U, but my R620 spends more time than I'd like to admit pulled out all the way. Sometimes when I'm tinkering (in my homelab and not for any sort of "Production"), I just set the cover on top for "airflow purposes" and just keep using it for days at a time. Never had an issue.
