What are your experiences with SSDs in RAID 5? I've often seen 1, 0, and 10 not 5/6
None, actually. I'm late to the enterprise SSD raid bandwagon - all I have now are single SSDs and a couple of mirrors for boot drives on my systems and servers.

I mentioned raid 5 because I want to increase my capacity, fault tolerance and speed, and since I could afford about 3 of the 480gb drives right now at the prices mentioned in this thread RAID5 seemed like the answer.

I have to say, both of mine are running now.

Using the Intel PCH controller was easier to format and faster.

At around $0.25/ GB there is something to be said for fairly good size reliable drives.
