Does anybody know where I can get Samsung PM983 M.2 Firmware? Apparently, the drives I purchased have firmware so old that ESXi does not recognize them.

| Disk | Path | Model | Serial | Firmware | Optionrom | Capacity | Drive | Total Bytes | NVMe Driver |
| Number | | | Number | | Version | | Health | Written | |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| 0:c | \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0 | SAMSUNG MZ1LB960HAJQ-000FB | XXXXXXXXXXXXXX | EDA73F2Q | N/A | 838 GB | GOOD | 0.00 TB | Samsung NVMe Driver |

The ESXi installer sees a new-ish 970 Pro, so I'm hoping its just a firmware issue. The PM983 seems to be on the HCL.

Thanks.

Good luck. I don't buy samsung because the don't have public firmware updates.
I ended up buying Intel P4511s to boot ESXi and have a small local datastore. I ended up passing through the Samsungs to unRAID and mounted them outside of the array.

Yeah, I pay the intel premium just to get firmware updates. Paywalling firmware updates that fix flawed devices seems to be begging for a class action suit. Reprehensible.
