Ryzen 3000 and PCH Slot Video Card. No Video

So I've got plenty of pretty proper servers with ipmi and onboard vga for management but i'd like to build a proxmox host around the AM4 X570 platform.


I got a gigabyte X570 AORUS ULTRA motherboard and a ryzen 3700x. I also have a zotac x1 pci e gt 710 video card which I would love to use in one of the x1 slots just for some sort of video console but for the life of me I cannot get video out of the card unless it is in one of the two pci express slots connected the CPU.

So that said, has any one put a video card in a chip slot and got post video with ryzen 3000 x570 or any ryzen 300/400 motherboard.

In your UEFI you should have an option to select primary video card - on my Gigabyte X370 I can only set that option properly if I have a second GPU in my 16x Slot, but after I have selected to use the 1x it works flawlessly w/o a GPU installed on primary pcie slot.
