I picked up a Syba Dual 2.5 Gigabit Card (SD-PEX24066)
for My Z390 Aorus Master a few days ago

Im going to add a 2.5 Gigabit switch in the near term so have been looking to add faster networking
in the Z390 as the other pc's have either 10 Gigabit or 2.5 Gigabit

I replaced the I350 T2 that was in the x4 slot (Wol worked fine)
it opened up the x4 slot for an extra nvme drive (The Syba is in the top x1 slot in the Z390 Aorus Master)

The Syba is the newer revision black pcb with a heatsink
WOL doesnt seem to be working when you enter s3 the ports power down

I have enabled the onboard i219v for wol as a temp workaround
but would like to not have it enabled as all it does is cause problems for SMB Multichannel
if left on dhcp (I have an ip manually set atm with no default gateway to ge around this)

anyway with the i350 T2 you could use a command line tool to enable wol in the hardware
does anyone know of such a tool for Realtek Nic's?

I contacted Syba and here's the reply

This multi port NIC does not support Wake on Lan.

You should specify which OS you're on, RTL8125 is somewhat supported on all major consumer OSes. So let's assume Win10. Did you try this e.g.? It talks about Win11 but pretty sure most (if not all) applies to Win10 as well. Always worth a try.

Win 10 21H2

Wake on Magic Packet Enabled
Wake on Magic Packet when system is in S5 Enabled

only allow a magic packet to wake the computer set on all nic's

I know how to enable wol i have all the pc's setup for it
and also had my I350 T2 working fine with wol
and also have my I219v working fine with wol

wol seems to be disabled at the chipset level for the RTL8125B's hence me asking if anyone knows of a tool
to enable/disable it at the hardware level like with intel nic's

Did you ever figure this out? In debian/ubuntu wol can be enabled for this card using ethtool ( ethtool -s enp1s0 wol g ). Adjust enp1s0 to reflect your interface name.

Question is, how do I do the same on freebsd?

No i didnt i just replaced it with two SI-PEX24059's

My guess is if your SD-PEX24066 works its a newer revision with it enabled

I got some no name china brand from amazon where the above does work. It's part of a cron job that runs at boot which primes the wol flag.

No, single port. Doesn't matter. Usually on a multiport nic, each interface is individually addressable.

Single port cards work fine

SD-PEX24066 has a pcie bridge chip between both nic's that is powered down in s3
hence you cant wake the nic's

hence this post

i340-t4
i350-t4

etc are a single controller with 4 ports

SD-PEX24066 is two controllers with a pcie bridge chip much different
