    Hi all-

I relatively recently bought a server that has this motherboard and a Xeon E3-1225V2 processor. It came with 2x4GB DIMMs of RAM. I was hoping to upgrade and tried a bunch of different sticks of PC3 ECC RAM I have and nothing worked. Tried various combinations including taking the original out. So, I ordered what I thought was essentially the same RAM that was already in but in 8GB sticks (Kingston 8GB 1Rx4 PC3-12800R). Still no luck, get the beeps pre-post indicating an issue with the RAM installed. I looked closer and there is at least one difference, aside from size, the originally installed RAM is 1.35V and this stuff is 1.5V. From what I can tell, this board should be able to support either.

    Am I missing something?

These Xeon E3s need Unbuffered ECC (not registered)
You need to look for PC3-12800E and not R
