If I'm reading you correctly, you can fit another 2.5" rear cage? That's news to me. If so I'll have to buy one and try it out.
Yea, I have another cage coming from that seller. They accepted an offer for $18 for the first one and $10 for the second one when I explained I just needed the back plane this time and they said they'd just give me another cage and all for $10...
I'll do a better write-up on it when I get the parts and test it out.

Does anyone have the "DAS___" part number for the 10gb SFP+ Mezz card some of these servers came with? Trying to find one on ebay since the Dell/Intel Mezz RJ45 one I bought didn't work.

I checked the new docs Owen uploaded and I found 1hy7zzz075d and 1hy7zzz074d but find very few purchasing options with those part numbers.

Good, but random news...
I swapped the CPUs in their sockets, A to B and B to A, just to see if that changed which ram slots weren't working... and this fixed the ram issue. ALL 24 slots are working, all 384GB are showing. I changed nothing else since the ram last showed as not working.

The ram still shows a lower speed and the field is greyed out:

Is there a particular memory mode I should change to or something else to look for?

Also, I am making a write-up on the drive cage and cabling situation:

Hi! I think i have broken my server X12RS after connecting a asus 1070 with a pcie extension to the port pcie x16 and a external psu attached only to the gpu. After power on first time, the server makes a continuous beep 10~15s and it reboot itself.

I have tried to remove all, only 1 cpu on 0, and 1 ram on A0.. and same long beep.

Any ideas? plz?

Someone has connected without problems a gpu with external psu? i see that someone tried it on page 7, but i dont understood how he did it.

It seems unlikely connecting a GPU would fry it.

I powered a GPU using an external power supply while testing things (you can check my link above about the rear drive cage and making custom power cables for both GPU and drives).

Can you upload a picture of the exact wiring you did?

Did the external PSU have a motherboard connector jumper to tell it to power on?

I've had weird issues with pcie extensions before so if you can, try it without that. I fit a lightly modified 4060ti in mine.

Hi! it appears its a mobo/cpu dead,..

I powered first ATX (shorted 24 wire by hand, only for first test), then i powered the server, and in the first moment start to continuos beeping. I think i smelled some minimal burn, but it was a fraction of a second.

I have tried disconnecting all but 1 cpu and 1 ram, and nothing, contine beeping. Only 1 cpu, and same. The only thing i can change is if i remove the bios memory chip. It beeps 1 time a reboot, in loop. I have tried to reflash the bios chip from the ipmi web and it did well.. so i think bios memory its not the problem. Oh, ipmi part web server is working fine, but it dont tell me any error code, or bad event. It recognice the 2 cpus.

I have checked 3.3, 5, 12 power rails and seems ok. So if there is something burned, it must be a chip or something near a chip.

Could u share a snapshot of the dashboard of ipmi webserver with the server itself powered off? I want to see if your server recognice more sensors than mine when is the server off.

Assuming you have a 2nd CPU, have you tried switching the CPUs in case the one is dead?
Maybe also try changing sockets and ram slots in case those are dead. I had a server board with 3 dead ram slots and another with a dead CPU socket.

Yes, i have tried al combinations of cpu (only 0, only 1, alternate cpus, in 2 sockets, alternate) and rams (i have 16 modules), and always the same.
EDIT: (if i only put a cpu on the socket 1, the server do nothing, not even try to start)

I have bought a pc analicer code scanner for tpm port (it will come in 1 week), i hope it works and it give me some kind of error code. And i have bought bios chips (next week too), i dont like the orange led on the bios chip.

I have the X22RQ making a continuous beep, orange led on PLTRST (above the bios rom), SYS_PWRGD led not lit. I was able to boot with no issues with only CPU0. In my case I tracked the issue back to low VREF DQ voltage on the middle bank of ram for CPU1. I have yet to actually solve the issue but I was able boot it once power gliching the PMIC (PX3895EDQG) 3.3v rail. The test pads next to the problem PX3895EDQG were at 0.34v instead of the normal 1.35v

Your issue might be on CPU0 which would explain why it doesnt boot single cpu for you, since the PCH is only attached to CPU0

Thank you for your answer. I have bougth a spare motherboard and moved all cpus and rams, and them are fine. I am trying to repair the motherboard with my limited knowledge about electronics o_O.

In the begining i i tought it was the mosfet on the 3.3 rail, but i was wrong (i desoldered them).. but i realice that i had a sort in the C602 chipset. I bought a new one with the mosfet... and soldered all together, but i did not a good job with the mosfet and the first boot it blew and push 12v all over 3.3 rail. I am trying to repair all chipsets (C602, 2 about pcie, LV4032, NAND chip, LDO to 1.28v). This is a kind of a adventure for me, i dont think i could repair it because LV4032 its a programable chip and i dont have the code (i already asked to quanta). (And i dont know if i blew something more yet :eek:)

I have check all this and i think RAM is OK, but RESET PIN:

DDR 3L ram section voltage check list at ram slot
DDR3L operating voltage VDD (at coil )= 1.35V PINs 51 -> OK

VSS (ground) = 0V PIN 121 -> OK

VRef_DQ = 0.67 V at PIN 1 -> OK
VTT/Termination voltage= 0.67V PINs 240 -> OK

VRef_CA. = 0.67V PIN 67 -> OK
VDD SPD = 3.3V PIN 236 -> OK
SDA data = 3.3V PIN 238 -> OK
SCL clock = 3.3V PIN 118 -> OK
DRAM_RST# = 1.35V PIN 168 -> BAD IS 0V, LOW

But when i try to check CPU VCC core, there is 0V or 30mv.. not good for cpu0 and cpu1.

Has someone the datasheets PX3895EDQG and PX3897EDQG (ic controllers of the mosfets for cpu)? This now are from infineon (first was primarion
