In the server room I have:
I have 2x ESXi 6.7 hosts that have been connected to a Netgear GS116Ev2 16 port switch. I setup vlans on the netgear switch and ESXi a few years ago so I could use a virtual pFsense router and pass the cable modem through without needing extra nics etc. Worked fine.
Last week I decided to go 10GBE and I purchased a QNAP QSSW-M408S (because it was cheap ahahah) 4x sfp+ ports, 8x 1gb-baseT pots, and connected the 2x hosts to it via DAC cables. Qnap is connected to the netgear switch via 2x ports on a LAG, all of my pcs are still on the netgear.
I setup Vlan trunking from the netgear to the qnap and from the qnap to ESXi but it will not pass any traffic.
Am i doing something wrong or are vlans not working on the qnap switch?
