Thanks. I'd looked at that but it's quite expensive. SFP+ with DAC cables ends up being much cheaper. I decided to go with some M920Qs for $125 with the riser ($7 on ali express) and a SolarFlare SFN5152 single port SFP+ NIC ($14).
Perfect, that was my path too, I have a M920Q with a mellanox 10GB SPF+

Just "mod" post
After couple days of testing different m.2 adapters, network cards and other stuff, finished my first tiny proxmox host node.
HP Elitedesk 800 G3 (i5 7500, 16GB ram, 256GB nvme) with m.2 a/e realtek 8125 2.5gbit network card /w 3d printed bracket (replaces detachable displayport mini card).

It works flawlessly. Original gigabit nic used for kvm/vPro only.

Just to add to this extensive resource, I've succesfully upgraded my HP Elite Mini 600 G9 to an I5-14400t. It's been running stable for a week now, even though 14th gen cpu's are not listed in the official HP documentation.

Quick and dirty bios picture:

This is awesome!

Would you consider uploading the bracket design to thingiverse.com?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use an A/E key 2.5G M.2 NIC in the wifi slot on the HP Mini 800 G6? I've managed to find examples of people doing this on the G5 but my google skills aren't good enough to find anything specifically mentioning the G6.

One would assume it should work, however on the Dell systems, this works on the 7070 Micro but not the 7080 Micro. It's assumed this is due to the change from CNVio to CNVio2 between those revisions and there are no M.2 NICs available at the moment that support CNVio2. See here.

So before I pull the trigger on a G6 Mini it'd be great to have some confirmation on this. Thanks!
